The people I had the blessing of meeting
The connection, joy and pure love that was in the room
The wisdom, knowledge, growth that was shared
Was something rather remarkable
On the 14th - 16th of September myself and 1500 other incredible humans gathered together at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas to undertake the Coaching Summit led by expert coach and thought leader Brendon Burchard. Ten hour days, 50+ pages of notes, 100ās of connections made and about 40,000 steps later from all the dance parties up the front I was in my ELEMENT!
Whilst I am a qualified holistic nutritionist, my other deep love is personal development and growth. Which is why I integrate these two worlds into the work I do.
But what is a coach? What is coaching? Burchard had us define this multiple times over the course of the conference, and through my own personal experience, listening to each other and Burchardās definition I concluded the following definitions that feel most aligned with all of the above:
What is coaching?
A guided influential process, facilitating another soul to take the next most powerful step in their life towards their goal or ambition, that enhances their self-awareness, decision making, improves performance and leads to living better
What is a coach?
A coach is an expert in their field who holds a safe space for someone to have a transformative experience on some levels that will positively impact their life and support them in reaching their ambitions, challenging and holding them to their highest level of execution.
MY TAKEAWAYS
Over the course of the 3 days, I had so many breakthroughs, a-ha moments, laughs and felt the most immense joy! Something really powerful in me shifted and I am excited for that to unfold and integrate in the weeks and months to come, however there were some incredible lessons that I know you will find so valuable so I thought Iād share them with you below:
- You are incomparable
There is only one of you, and there only ever will be, comparison is the thief of joy, own your uniqueness and know that you already hold the magic inside of you, the most authentic expression of yourself is needed in this world. - The story you are saying is not the language you need for your next level
Watch your thoughts, you are not your mind, the stories you tell yourself daily is what becomes your reality. If those thoughts arenāt aligned, the way you speak to yourself is not for your highest good, then itās time to shift your language to elevate to your next level. - The time to have the map is before you enter the woods
Set your intentions, goals and ambitions, or life will set them for you. Start where with the end in mind, it is always easier to work backwards from the bigger picture than to try navigate and make decisions when you are stressed and lost. - Joy is the superpower - the power plant doesnāt have the energy, it creates it
You get to bring the energy, the emotion to each day, and just like a power plant it is your job to create the energy of joy. That is our superpower, to be able to operate from this space and to be able to truly share our magic with the world. This is the frequency of the highest vibration, opportunities and love. How can you be in joy more each day? - THINK BEYOND; vision beyond your circumstances
We can get so trapped in what is right in front of us, so consumed by the weeds in our garden of life that we miss the beautiful opportunities flowering around us. When you come back to your vision, your true north, you see you are so much more than your circumstances, so when you feel stuck or helpless, THINK BEYOND. - When they doubt, you demonstrate
To sound overly generic for a secondā¦ āHaters gonna hateā haha. But in all honesty, donāt let others' judgement, doubts or fears be projected onto you. It can be tough when you have big goals and dreams to always have support from those around you (or online). You have to remember, you have a responsibility to yourself and this world to carry out your mission and it can be triggering for others to be able to see you in your bigness. This doesnāt mean you are not worthy or capable. And if they doubt, donāt get defensive, DEMONSTRATE. In time they will see, remember, actions speak louder than words (and soon enough they will be eating theirs haha). - Own the decision fully
This one hit me like a slap across the face. Itās amazing how when youāre someone who is a recovering people pleaser, how hard it can be to truly own a decision out of fear of hurting people, especially if it is a big decision. However, when you make a decision, embodying it FULLY and taking bold action that supports it is the most powerful way forward. - Ask yourself powerful questions:
- Am I operating from a place of being built up or beat down?
- Am I in reaction or intention?
- Am I living in fear or faith? These questions were just a few of the potent ones Burchard shared with us. I encourage you to keep these top of mind to deepen your self-awareness and growth in life.The first one to me, really asks if we are operating out of victimhood, or choosing to see the lesson life is offering us in a moment of hardship (and although it can be hard to see it at the time, there is a gift there) we have a choice in our viewpoint.
The second one to me is being clear on how you respond and what place you take action from. Are you being intentional in how you communicate and behave even when things arenāt lining up for you, or are you operating from a place of reactivity, getting defensive and avoiding responsibility.
The third one to me is coming back to a lesson I have felt deeply this yearā¦ a lesson of trusting life. When we choose to live in faith over fear, we trust that life is always working out for us, versus happening to us. What are you choosing at each moment?
- The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is just that extra 2%, and after that extra mile thereās no traffic (Paula Abdul)
So many of us (myself included), have a tendency to stop at āgoodā when greatness is just an extra mile away. One of my intentions Iām carrying with me after this summit is to yes, take messy action (rather than inaction due to perfectionism), but also to continue to strive for that EXTRAORDINARY. Itās not that much more of a jump, but the view is so exquisite on both the journey and destination. - REMEMBER: (my final words + thoughts)

We also had the pleasure of celebrating @brendonburchard ās 100TH 4 DAY EVENT! šÆšÆšÆ This is quite an achievement. Burchard has been in the coaching industry (and paving the way for the majority of it), for 20 years (thatās two decades). So to be at such a monumental event of his was amazing.
Iāve admired this manās work for years, and to finally be in the same room, in person, from the other side of the world was unreal š„¹šš I can also say wholeheartedly that he truly lives and breaths this work, I could feel the immense gratitude and joy for him simply being able to be present. I have so much admiration for his dedication to this craft and his capacity to give, continue to grow and always share his learnings along the way. There is room for all of us and sharing wisdom is the fastest way to elevate the conscious collective (IMO)
I am still grinning from ear to ear reflecting on the magic that happens when you get a bunch of personal development weirdos, coaches and conscious minds together

Things I do EVERY single day to help maintain a healthy lifestyle, physically AND mentally, without being restrictive ā£ļø
I recommend these things to ALL of my clients.
MY TOP HEALTHY HABITS
1. Regulating my nervous system (aka controlling cortisol levels š)
STRESS impacts everything. Managing your stress levels is SO important for everything from hormonal balance to gut health, spiritual well-being and digestive health. So I make feeling safe in my body my number one priority.
2. Workouts tailored to my body and cycle šš¼āāļø
This is essential for regaining your energy. Understand that when you are on your period, your energy levels can be low compared to when youāre ovulating. This means your training and output will look completely different - and thatās fine!
Truth is, if you push yourself too hard when youāre menstruating, youāre just robbing your body of that tiny bit of energy you have. Doing this every month becomes exhausting!
3. Swapping coffee for HBL āļø
Iām a firm believer in ditching (or at least lowering) the CAFFEINE. But itās hard to just cut it out completely, I get that! My Hormone Balancing Latte contains no coffee, and a super small amount of caffeine from the cacao so itās the perfect way to start your day and replace your regular morning drink with something to actually support your hormones.
4. Spending 30+ mins reading every day š
Your brain needs just as much nourishment as your mind, and when it's been said we consume over 42GB of information a day (that's 42 trucks stacked top to bottom with reams of paper), you'd better make sure it's real food, not junk food.
5. Not restricting myself (food & drinks) š
If youāre anything like me, you know that food is an important part of life AND you get that you canāt just cut out all of your fave foods forever! Thatās why Iām not restrictive with what I eat and drink - and I was still able to balance my hormones, lose weight, and boost my metabolism. Trust me, you can, too āØ
6. Getting out in the sunshine + nature āļø
Get fresh air and sun exposure! Even if itās cloudy. This helps your circadian rhythm, sleep quality, vitamin D production, and mood. Bonus points if you get some grounding in, walking barefoot on Mother Nature recharges our human battery.
7. Sauna's 3 x week for my lymphatic system + mental health š§š¼āāļø
We don't sweat much anymore, and this healthy stress on the body enables you to cleanse out the toxins you could be holding onto (including things like too much estrogen), I time it right after my workouts to optimise lymphatic drainage, and support the release of those endorphins for my mental health

Dear Beautiful Soul,
Youāre not going to believe where you are right now. The smile on your face cannot be shaken and the love in your heart will never fade. You are sharing your light, you are sharing your gifts with the world and you are expanding and exploding with joy.
Your soul aligned mission on this earth that has been divinely guided is being lived in right here, right now.
I know where you are in this moment is tough, I know that it feels like the world is crumbling around you and at times like it is all too much. I know that this is not where or how you pictured your life at this point and I want you to know that it is okay to grieve that.
I also want you to know that it is all coming. This is the initiation. A chance for you to reset. To realign your life to your higher calling, to your deeper purpose and also a chance for you to be the fullest, most beautiful expression of yourself.
It is by stepping into this version of yourself that you will attract everything that youāve ever wanted and more, and let me tell youā¦ it is SO MUCH MORE than you couldāve ever dreamed.
I want to take a moment to see you, to recognise the strength you have had, the vulnerability you have shown, the beauty you have been amongst the chaos and your willingness to continue the fight.

When it comes to weight loss, we often arenāt looking deep enough, we blame it on the food we are eating and the lack of movement and simply think more is more.Ā
Well thatās not the case, there are so many factors that impact your ability to lose weight, and hormones are one of them. Hereās howā¦
HORMONES THAT AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO LOSE WEIGHT
1. Insulin:
Insulin is a hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar levels. When insulin levels are imbalanced, such as in insulin resistance, weight gain becomes more likely. Balancing insulin through dietary changes and lifestyle modifications can support weight loss efforts.
2. Leptin:
Leptin, known as the satiety hormone, signals to your brain when you're full. However, hormonal imbalances can lead to leptin resistance, causing a disruption in appetite regulation and potentially leading to overeating. Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Yields: 30 - 40 gummies
Fun fact: the gelatin in these is amazing to support gut health and repair gut lining, so these gummies are a win win! Check out the recipe below :)
INGREDIENTS
-Ā 1 cup mango juice/blitzed frozen mango
-Ā 1 cup coconut cream
-Ā 8 tbsp. gelatin (I used the nutra organics natural grass fed unflavoured)
-Ā 3 tbsp. stevia
METHOD
(as adapted from @boobtofood)
- Add all the liquid to a medium saucepan
- Sprinkle the gelatin over the juice (try spread it out evenly), and let it sit for a few minutes, this allows the gelatin to ābloomā
*You will notice a wrinkled look forming on the surface as the liquid absorbs the gelatin - Stir the mixture together
- Put on a low-medium heat and stir gently until the gelatin has dissolved for around 5 minutes
- In the last minute or so add the stevia and make sure this is well mixed through
- Remove from heat and pour into silicone moulds (I got mine from @littlegiantsstore and found using a tear dropper helped massively too. Alternatively you can use a container as long as it lifts out easily.
- Pop in the fridge for 2+ hours for it to setĀ
- Remove from moulds or cut them up (if in a container) and keep refrigerated for up to 14 days. Enjoy!

Sugar is such a controversial topic in the health and wellness world. The truth is, sugar is sugar, regardless of its form or name (IMO). And consuming too much sugar can have a detrimental effect on our gut health, leading to digestive issues and inflammation in the body.
Unfortunately, there are many different names for sugar, which makes it difficult to identify in the ingredient list of food products. Common names for sugar include agave, cane, caramel, maple syrup, and coconut sugar. However, it's important to understand that they all contain a high amount of fructose, which can be damaging to our bodies in excess.
Consuming too much sugar can cause an overgrowth of harmful bacteria in our gut, leading to inflammation and a weakened immune system. This is why it's crucial to be mindful of our sugar intake and choose whole, natural foods that are low in added sugars. By understanding the various names for sugar and being more mindful of our food choices, we can take control of our gut health and overall wellbeing.
ADDICTION TO SUGAR
Did you know that sugar can be more addictive than cocaine? It's true! When we consume sugar, our brains release dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward. This flood of dopamine can create a feeling of euphoria, which can lead to cravings for more sugar. Studies have shown that sugar activates the same areas of the brain as drugs of abuse, such as cocaine and heroin. In fact, in one study, rats were given the choice between sugar water and cocaine, and they chose the sugar water every time. This suggests that sugar may be even more rewarding and addictive than cocaine. Crazy right!?
But the problem with sugar addiction goes beyond just cravings and pleasure. Over time, consuming too much sugar can lead to a host of health problems, such as hormonal imbalances, bacterial overgrowths in the gut, poor sleep, lethargy and fatigue, as well as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. By reducing your sugar consumption and making healthier choices, you can improve your overall health and wellbeing.
INCREASED SUGAR CONSUMPTION + WHAT YOU CAN DO
This may surprise you, but you could be consuming more than 35 kilograms (77 pounds) of sugar per year without even realising it! Statistics suggest that as recently as 100 years ago, the average person only ate around 1 kilogram (2 pounds) of sugar per year. Now, it is reported to be about 35 kilograms (77 pounds) per person, per year! That is 35 times more sugar than what our (great) grandparents were eating, and it's unlikely that the increase is from an extra consumption in vegetable intake.
The increase in sugar consumption is mainly due to hidden sugars, processed sugars, and overconsumption of them. The condiments from the grocery store, tinned foods, and even bread sometimes contain added sugars. This is why it's so important to learn the balance when it comes to sugar, as you may be consuming far more than you realise.

It's time you were taken seriously when you have concerns about your health.
It has brought me to tears the last few weeks, not just what Iām about to share, but all the stories that followed in your messages and comments on my Instagram post about this very topic.
I am a huge advocate for patient/client care and believe that the holistic approach, and the work myself and other like minded practitioners do, should be a collaborative effort with medical professionals like doctors for whoever needs care that is in front of us, itās not one or the other.
But I wanted to share this story with you, because I know too many women who have been told their blood work was ānormalā and that they just have to live with itā¦ this is not the case, and certainly wasnāt the case for my client whose story I am sharing with you below.
ADVOCATING FOR YOURSELF
So this happened just over a week agoā¦
I had a client that just couldn't shift weight, a few things had popped up in the limited blood work her doctor had permitted her to do, but things just weren't working.
She was eating PERFECTLY, like I take my hat off to her, whole real nourishing foods, following protocols 100%, yet the weight wasn't shifting and I knew there was more to the picture (another reason why testing is so important)... we have to get to the root cause.
She went to her doctor about the weight loss issue, asking to investigate this further and requested a few more bloods. To which the doctor refused the blood work, blamed her weight on assumed case of PCOS, and then told her she shouldn't be working with a nutritionist (aka me) because we don't know what we're talking about - she actually said a lot worse about me but I'll leave it out.
So I took matters into my own hands, reached out to my own personal doctor to enable her to get these extra tests done, and GUESS WHAT HAPPENED?
She was diagnosed with an AUTOIMMUNE CONDITION of her thyroid, and her blood readings were off the charts! (meaning that this has most likely been going on for a long time under the radar).
This completely explains why she's been unable to lose the weight, and has actually been feeling progressively worse no matter how many healthy changes she made in her diet and life.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Left untreated and ignored this could've been so much worse, and I am so grateful we pushed and got to the root cause for her... we both knew something wasn't right and there was more to this picture.
So let this serve as a reminder... no matter what YOU know your body best, trust your intuition, and if something doesn't seem right, don't be afraid to keep questioning it until you get REAL answers!

WANT TO KNOW HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY GUT AND KEEP IT THAT WAY?
Itās probably not what youād think, and some of these may surprise you with just how easy they areā¦ Small things done consistently, is what makes the biggest difference!
HERE ARE MY TOP 7 DAILY HABITS FOR A HEALTHY GUT
- BOWEL MOVEMENT(S)
Having a daily bowel movement - this is a non-negotiable to keep the gut clean and healthy, it means you are eliminating toxins and your detoxification pathways are open (and if this isnāt happening for you, DM me!) - BONE BROTH
A morning mug of bone broth before I start my day helps line my gut with nutrients to support a healthy gut lining and feed my good bugs! There are so many benefits of bone broth, read about it here - BELLY BREATHING
Deep belly breathing to activate my rest, digest, reproduce and repair system (PNS), if you are living in fight or flight (often unknowingly), you will be chest breathing. This takes blood away from your digestive system and can actually lead to bloating, indigestion, and other gut issues. - EXERCISE
Regular movement = regular movement, and I mean that quite literally, get your body moving so your bowels do too! Even if you are just going for a 30 minute walk daily it will really support your gut and how it functions! - PROBIOTICS
I personally choose to take probiotics on the regular to keep growing the diversity and richness of my gut microbiome (aka increase the amount + quality of my good bugs). But quality is importantā¦ if you arenāt sure where to start, DM me! - FIBRE
Fibre is the toothbrush for your gut, you donāt want any plaque building up (yes that happens in your gut, not just your teeth)... So adding a regular serve of leafy greens and other non-starchy veggies to main meals keeps you regular - WATER
Drinking 3L + of water each day keeps your body hydrated so the cells can communicate effectively, and it also keeps your stools flowing regularly, we arenāt a fan of constipation around here!
*BONUS HABIT* I have also been loving the addition of @mitchells.nz gut supporting teas, having ādigest wellā in the morning and ādigest sootheā before bed to help me unwind!
FINAL THOUGHTS
All of these habits continue to make sure that I am managing my gut health, keeping my body in a state of flow and allowing my body to keep having a regular healthy bowel movement each day so I can absorb my nutrients and have the energy to thrive!

Every year we want to be our best selves, but often a lack of preparation lets us down! Which is why taking charge of your health early in the year is key to setting yourself up for success!!
Take yourself through these 3 steps to make sure you're starting the year with your healthiest foot forward.
3 STEPS TO A HEALTHIER BODY
1. CLAIM YOUR GOALS
And NO I'm not talking about your new year's resolutions, but actual goals... What symptoms do you want to be free of? How do you want to feel in your body? Define what your healthiest self actually looks likeā¦ then make a plan to get there!
If you claim them, write them down, make a vision board and then make a plan, you are keeping your mind focused on what you want to achieve. To quote Tony Robbins here āwhere focus goes, energy flowsā. In other words, whatever you put your attention on is more likely to become a reality, so get super clear on what is it you want!
2. CREATE HEALTHY HABITS
Too often we go in with an all or nothing approach, like signing up to the gym and training everyday for the first couple of weeks, then burning our bodies out or injuring ourselves sets us back or to a complete halt
Pick no more than 3 new habits, and be REALISTIC with them. Maybe it's going to the gym 3 x week, preparing your meals in advance and meditating daily, but make sure it is something that feels doable and just a little outside your comfort zone.
Then pick a time and pop it as a recurring event in your calendar so it actually happens, and you can progress and increase from there. Trying to do everything all at once is a recipe for failure (take it from me - I learnt that the hard way). Letās first build momentum and then keep progressing!
3. EAT WHOLE REAL FOODS
A healthier body is one that isn't inflamed, in pain or highly symptomatic - and this really does start with your food. Eating food that grew in the ground, walked on the earth, and is as close to nature as possible is a real food... Tell you what you don't see growing on a farm

Put it this way, the less processed the less inflammatory, it really is that simple. You don't have to overhaul your entire pantry, start slow, make some swaps and increase your greens, you'll be amazed at how much better you feel.
Take a slower trip around your supermarket (btw I say AROUND because the perimeter is where you will find the REAL food). Plan you meals before you go, read the ingredients on the āfoodā you pick up, and get curious about what youāre really putting into your body.
